Spring Cleaning
Been doing a top to bottom spring cleaning-closets, cabinets, cleaning the stove, cleaning the refrigerator, throwing away things, pulling out furniture, scrubbing the baseboards, that kind of thing. It is amazing the junk you can accumulate without realizing it! I don't even miss the things that have been thrown away. I shampooed the carpets. I even have a couple of worn out broken down chairs that I am trying to find someone to haul away for me. (Good luck with THAT, right?) I just feel like I have gotten so much accomplished and I am so proud of myself. It always feels good to have a clean house. What I was not expecting was HOW good it feels. What about you? Have you finished yours yet? How proud of yourself do you feel? Did you find it the same self esteem boost I did? What are some cleaning/organization tips you have to get it done, KEEP it that way, and make those day to day tasks easier next time? Please share with me. Don't let my posts wither in the ether. ha ha ha
Lying
Saw an interesting post on my twitter feed awhile ago concerning Rahab from the Bible. Rahab lied to the men who came questioning her about the Israelite spies. She lied in order to save the men of God. No question about that. But she DID lie. God says do not lie. Yet she was honored for her actions. SO-is there ever a good reason to lie? Is there wiggle room on that? Only to save a life, your own or someone else's? Where is the line drawn? Let me hear your opinions.

Wet/Dry Vote
Hello again. Time for some thoughts on the recent wet/dry votes in our own town and a few surrounding cities. Two surrounding areas were smart enough to vote no on packaged alcohol sales. Why weren't we? Very simple. We allowed Satan to blind us to the truth and allowed ourselves to fall for the old "It'll bring in tax money and help the economy." song and dance. That is not true folks. 80% of that money goes straight to Frankfort and will never be seen by us. As for the little remaining money, it will be taken up by paying for the need for increased police officers and larger jail facilities, among other things. Even if we kept the entire amount, bringing in ten million dollars, a hundred million, a billion- NO AMOUNT would ever pay the cost of the toll this in going to take on lives and families. Consider the wife who has to fear her husband's payday instead of feeling the relief of being able to pay bills, because he can now stop by Wal-Mart on the way home and buy enough alcohol to fuel an entire weekend of drunken beatings for her and her children- children who also can never bring friends home because there is no telling what Daddy may be like-who have to wear long sleeves to school in 75 degree weather just to hide the bruises and hope no one looks too closely or asks too many questions. These children are going to grow up and repeat the same dysfunction in their own families because they know no other way. Young boys grow up thinking this is what is means to be a man. Young girls grow up settling for much less than they deserve in a man because,"Well, this is how it was with Mom and Daddy, it must be normal." What about the lives ruined because of drunk driving accidents? Ask anyone who has lost a family member or dear friend in this way and see how much they want the tax money. Yes, I am well aware that alcohol was still available before this vote. I am not naive enough to believe otherwise. Those who need alcohol that badly know where to get it. It isn't necessary to bring it right to the front door. I saw a man the other day at Rite-Aid wheeling out a cart filled with about 6 or 8 cases of beer. I saw the sign and the price was about $22 a case. This means he had spent over $100 on beer! That is his business, yes-but you have to wonder-was his electric bill paid up? His rent? Did he have all the groceries he needed? He may well have had all this taken care of, and I hope so-but as I said, you have to wonder, given these economic times. This is a symptom of the way we have stood by and allowed our freedoms to be taken away from us and tried to remove God from everything. WAKE UP! Look what is happening around you. We have a presidential election coming up, and my own personal opinion is we need to remove the current administration. The sad fact is though, if we as Christians and we as a country don't fall on our knees in repentance and beg the forgiveness of a Holy and Almighty God, and bring Him back into the very foundations of this country, IT WILL NOT MATTER WHO THE PRESIDENT IS.
Off We Go!
Hello! Welcome to my blog. I hope you enjoy it. I enjoy writing and I enjoy fashion, so I will be combining the two here. I will be posting looks that I have created via polyvore.com (which is a fun site-if you like putting together outfits and accessorizing, I recommend it!) as well as just general thoughts and commentary. Some of the outfits I may not wear personally but I think they would look nice if you have the budget/figure for them. Some will be everyday wear, some will be professional looks, others will definitely be high end special occasion wear only. As for the thoughts and commentary, I state up front and for the record, I am a Christian and very conservative and I make no apologies for that. There is room for debate here, and I welcome it, but there is no room for personal attacks based on my beliefs. I hope to have lots of activity and dialogue, not just to be sending words out into the ether with no response. I hope you will tell all your friends about my blog and get lots of traffic here. Until the next post, God bless, and I say in the words of Project Runway's Tim Gunn, "MAKE IT WORK!"
